0 7 Top Tips For Choosing Your Maternity Wedding Dress

Tip 1: Your Maternity Wedding Dress Style

So ... here's the BIG question ... "How far along will you be on your wedding day?" If you will still be in the early months of your pregnancy on your wedding day, you may not need maternity wedding dress tips or even a maternity wedding dress. You might just get away with a slightly larger size dress in the style you love already.

Do you have a good dressmaker on hand for last minute alterations? Double check with her that your dress can be altered or let out where needed before you buy or order anything ... because you can't predict how fast your bump will grow or how you will carry your baby. Ball gowns and dresses with a tight bodice are not generally very comfortable or flattering for pregnant brides-to-be because they'll emphasize your expanding middle! Best to steer clear!

Empire line gowns and A-line dresses look fabulous on most pregnant women thanks to their loose structure which creates a beautiful silhouette. "Proper" maternity wedding dresses aren't second best ... they are beautiful! Designers understand the modern pregnant bride's desire to look fabulous and there are some amazing maternity wedding dresses to choose from ... whatever your budget.

2. Where will you be tying the knot?

Brides usually choose a long formal gown for a religious ceremony although long gowns are equally suited for civil celebrations too. If you're planning a small or informal civil or beach maternity wedding, maybe you will prefer a shorter, less structured dress?

There are no hard and fast rules ... it's all about you finding a maternity wedding dress that makes you feel great on your big day!

3. Enhance your beautiful blooming figure!

Traditional brides look for a dress to enhance their natural assets and as a pregnant bride, that's just what you should do too. So, here are some physical considerations before choosing your pregnancy wedding dress

* What shoes will you be comfortable in and how will your chosen dress look with the wedding shoes you plan to wear?
* Do you have a great cleavage ... why not show it off?
* Would you like a strappy or strapless gown? Think about the width of your maternity bra straps ...will you be able to cope with a strapless bra for the day or do you really need a bit more support?
* Do you want to hide your baby bump?
* Are your arms toned and beautiful or would you like to hide them away? Would you be happier with a dress that has sleeves if you've gained weight on your arms in your pregnancy. What about a stylish wrap or bolero jacket?

4. Fabulous Fabrics

You should think as carefully about the fabric of your maternity wedding dress as the style of the dress itself, especially when thinking about the season of your wedding. The same dress in different wedding dress fabrics will look and feel quite different. It will certainly drape quite differently around your body.

5. Think about the colour of your gown!

Traditional western brides have married in white: the colour of maidenhood and purity. Today white is simply considered to be the colour that represents joy. As a pregnant bride, you CAN wear white if you want to ... if you want to inject a little colour, you can do that too!

Natural shades such as champagne, ivory, grey and very light pastels are always popular, but striking reds, blues, pinks and black are very fashionable. It's your wedding ... and as a twenty first century bride ... you really can have exactly the colour scheme you want. And if you love bold colour, but want a traditional coloured maternity wedding dress, why not introduce your chosen colour with your flowers and accessories?

6. Your bridegroom, attendants and guests

Once you've found your dream maternity wedding gown, it's time to think about the other key people who will take part in your maternity wedding!

* What ideas do you have about wedding attire for your husband-to-be, the best man and the ushers?
* How would you like your bridesmaids, flower girls or page boys to look?

As you're working to a tight time budget with a maternity wedding, don't forget to keep it simple ... and accept help when it is offered to you!

7. Preserving Your Maternity Wedding Gown, Once the Big Day is Over!

After you've spent time and thought selecting your maternity wedding gown, you'll probably want to hold on to it for sentimental reasons. If it is properly, professionally cleaned and preserved, your wedding gown can last for years to come. What a wonderful and meaningful keepsake to share with your family in the years ahead!

A Guide to Maternity Wedding Dress Styles - Learn How to Choose the Right One

There are several maternity wedding dress styles available. Designers understand a pregnant woman's desire to look great on her big day. It's important to choose a dress that looks great on you and feels comfortable. Whether you're planning a formal or informal wedding, read this guide to learn how to choose the perfect dress!

It's important to choose the right maternity dress, and to have a good dressmaker help you prepare for the big day. The biggest question in regards to choosing a maternity wedding dress is "how far along are you going to be on the day of your wedding?" Whether it's in one month or six months, you need to have a tailor or seamstress on hand just in case the dress needs any last minute alterations.

When it comes to bumps, no two women grow exactly the same. You can't predict what your stomach will look like in the upcoming months. Designers are doing whatever they can to make gorgeous wedding gowns. You can look fabulous, no matter how far along you are. All you have to do is know which dresses to avoid.

For starters, stay away from any wedding dress with a tight bodice, as it will only emphasize your middle. Tight dresses are also uncomfortable. However, just because you're pregnant doesn't mean you have to dress modestly. There are some amazing two piece dresses and short, maternity dresses. A satin strapless top can look great, just as long as you choose an A-line bottom.

Another thing you need to consider is the ceremony. Where are you going to be married? In a church? A formal gown is ideal for a religious ceremony. The beach? A simple, less structured dress is the best choice. An informal indoor wedding? A tea length wedding dress might be a good choice for you. Look over various styles and choose the right one for your wedding.

If you're unsure whether to wear a strapless or strappy gown, think about your maternity bra. Will it look okay with a strapless top? Will you be comfortable with a strapless bra, or do you need more support? If you've gained weight in your arms, you might want to cover them. Bolero jackets look great with strapless gowns. Last but not least, think about the fabrics. Which fabric will you be most comfortable in: lace, silk, satin, chiffon, or cotton?

0 Modest Maternity Wedding Dresses

Today, more bridal wear designers and clothing manufacturers focus on providing pregnant brides with wonderful selections of gorgeous maternity wedding dresses. Gone are the days of generic-looking and loose wedding dress mumus; they have been replaced by chic and fashionable maternity wedding garments. You no longer have to compromise your dream wedding dress style simply because you're expecting.

Most maternity wedding dresses use stretch fabrics designed to accommodate your ever-changing body. A number of maternity wedding dresses have empire waistlines with softly flowing fabric designed to fit loosely around the midsection to fit your growing belly. There are also some maternity wedding dresses made from stretchy materials like spandex, but if you're looking for something a little more elegant, you may opt for silk, satin or stretchy lace maternity wedding dresses.

Finding the Perfect Maternity Wedding Dress

The following are some tips designed to help you find the perfect maternity wedding dress.

Tip 1: As much as possible, try to purchase your maternity wedding dress close to your actual wedding date.

If you purchase your maternity wedding dress months ahead of your actual wedding, your body is still going to experience numerous changes. Aside from a swelling belly, you may add on some extra pounds in other places. To avoid having to spend a lot in alterations, buy your dress just a month or two before you actually tie the knot.

Tip 2: If you're purchasing your gown ahead of time, try to estimate how far along you'll be by the day of your wedding to help you find the right dress size.

When picking out your maternity wedding dress, finding the right dress size is a must! To make sure you're getting the right dress size, base your choice on your pre-pregnancy size. In most cases your normal dress size is just the same as your maternity dress size, except you have fabric allowance in the belly region.

Tip 3:
If you're in between sizes, always go for the bigger size
Let's be honest, until you actually give birth, you're just going to keep getting bigger, that's why it's crucial that you find a maternity wedding dress that accommodates your growing size.

Tip 4: Keep a handy seamstress available for last minute alterations.

While it's always safer to go for a size bigger when picking out your maternity wedding dress, it's equally important that your dress fits you well on your actual wedding day. A seamstress or a dressmaker can help you make sure your gown is a perfect fit.

Tip 5: Know where to look.

Maternity wedding dresses are a little harder to find compared to beach wedding dresses, formal and informal wedding gowns. You may not be able to find an excellent maternity dress collection at your nearest bridal boutique.

some tips:
*Select the simple patterns on one side of the dress in complementing colors on the rest part.
*A long sleeve style dress is preferable in winter and the dress with short sleeves made from light fabrics is more suitable for summer wedding.
